Eye Comfort Tips for Long VR and AR Sessions
Extended time in VR can lead to digital eye strain, also known as 'Computer Vision Syndrome.' To maintain comfort, follow the '20-20-20' rule: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and look at something 20 feet away in the physical world. Ensuring your headset's IPD (Interpupillary Distance) is perfectly calibrated is also crucial, as even a slight misalignment can force your eyes to strain to maintain focus. Many modern headsets also feature 'Blue Light' filters or night modes which can reduce eye fatigue during late-night sessions. Finally, remember to blink! The immersive nature of VR often leads to a reduced blink rate, which can cause dry and irritated eyes.
