Extending VR Session Time: Comfort Mods and Battery Management
Long-form VR sessions can be taxing both on your physical comfort and your device's battery life. Upgrading to a halo-style or elite-style head strap can better distribute the weight of the headset, reducing facial pressure. To manage power, external battery packs or 'battery straps' can double or triple your runtime. Managing thermals is also important; using small neck fans or active faceplate cooling can prevent lens fogging and facial overheating. Finally, remember the '20-20-20' rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds (outside the headset) to reduce eye strain. This guide helps you build the ultimate long-session VR setup.
